Technical Sales Manager

Lancashire - Salary TBC

A manufacturer of high tech electronic products is seeking a Technical Sales Manager for its site in Lancaster.

We are looking for a positive and proactive sales person to manage key commercial customers. They will possess a clear focus on generating additional sales for the company, achieved through converting self-generated leads and inbound enquiries into confirmed orders. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to successfully sell technically advanced products that meet customer needs. This will be achieved through a combination of office and field-based customer contact and the execution of a self-driven sales plan.

Key responsibilities include:

• To actively produce sales for products appropriate to current business strategy by understanding customer needs and satisfying those requirements.
• To regularly provide feedback on existing and prospective markets, competitors, and customers to produce strategic sales plans.
• Attendance and networking at trade events.
• To collaborate with the internal engineering team to create proposals and quotes meeting the customers’ and company’s requirements.
• To provide high levels of communication with the customer throughout project development to ensure that their deliverable expectations are met.
• To provide regular feedback to assist in the development of marketing plans.
• To manage stock and demonstration equipment made available to customers.
• To communicate and interact proactively and constructively with members of the management team in the pursuit of continuous improvement.

Essential attributes:

• The ability to learn and understand new technologies and apply this to business development.
• High energy and a drive to succeed in achieving targets.
• Commercial acumen.
• Excellent presentation, communication and customer management skills.
• Strong work ethic and team work characteristics.
• Full UK drivers licence
• The ability to travel including overnight stays.
