Process Engineer
Cambridgeshire - Salary £33,000-£36,000
We are seeking a Process Engineer for a technology company in Cambridgeshire.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
• Provide process engineering support for current and new technology developments, focussing on process improvement, optimisation and control.
• Identify process bottlenecks and implement solutions using Lean 6 Sigma methodologies.
• Design and execution of experiments to explore tool and process capabilities including device performance. When appropriate characterise new materials or consumables.
• Understanding of the process flow for device manufacture including all ancillary activities that are required to complete manufacturing activities.
• Where appropriate identify secondary suppliers and ensure continuity of existing suppliers.
• Analysis and reporting of device results using in-house software and Microsoft office packages.
• Produce and deliver presentations to internal and external meetings.
• Write reports of engineering investigations and studies.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Educated to PhD level, or alternatively with equivalent relevant experience in Physics, Engineering, Materials Science or a closely related subject is essential.
• A Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or demonstrable experience of continuous improvement results is essential.
• Evidence of creative, inventive problem solving, with an aptitude for experimental work and with demonstrable experience of solving complex problems is essential.
• Experience of process problem solving and design of process trials within a cleanroom or similar hi-tech production environment is required.
• Proactive and self-motivated with an ability to identify, promote and implement relevant activities, manage his/her own time is essential.
• The ability to operate independently in a laboratory environment is essential.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly with people from a variety of technical and non-technical backgrounds at different levels of the organisation would be an advantage.
• Knowledge and experience of Minitab, or other statistics packages would be an advantage.
• Experience of CAD software would be an advantage.
