Senior Electrical Engineer

Hampshire - Salary TBC

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a refinery on the south coast.

This role is to provide specialist Electrical consulting and technical support for existing facilities and new projects in the areas of design consulting, technical quality assurance and start up assistance. The focus of the role is to provide in depth technical leadership and support to site facilities through troubleshooting, asset improvement and technology selection. You will also be required to develop and deliver technical training and standards for plant engineering organisations within the company and both facilitate and participate in formal technical networks in the Electrical discipline globally.

To be eligible for this role, you must have the current right to work in the UK and in the EU.

In addition you should:-

1. Already be a Chartered ICE member with a 2.1 or 1st Class degree in Electrical Engineering.
2. Have 10+ years professional experience, ideally within an operating company or a major engineering contractor (petrochemical or other heavy industry experience strongly desired).
3. Be able to demonstrate a detailed working knowledge of design and maintenance requirements of electrical systems and equipment at 11kv down to low voltage plant utilisation levels.
4. Be able to demonstrate a good level of knowledge of a range of equipment including switchgear, motors, motor starters, protective relaying equipment, battery chargers and uninterruptible power supplies.
5. Demonstrate a track record of having the ability to proactively apply engineering and problem solving skills to meet challenging safety and business objectives.
6. Demonstrate the ability to carry out electrical system and protective relay coordination studies and analyse and present the results.
7. Demonstrate a sound knowledge of hazardous area classification and ATEX regulations.
8. Be willing to travel overseas on frequent short business trips and/or assignments (up to approx. 50% of your time)
